1,500 Homing Pigeons Get Lost During Race

1,500 of the 2,000 pigeons in a 93 mile race in Sweden apparently have gotten lost. Only about 500 have returned to after the  flight between the cities of Ljungby and Malmoe in Sweden.

There have not been any reported sightings of the 1,500 birds anywhere in southern Sweden.

BTW, the Swedes call this a "sport."  Personally, I don't think anything is a sport unless your heart rate is elevated, you get out of breath, and you have to physically train to do it.

Although the definition on Google supports this, "An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively," it also defines sport as "An active pastime; recreation."  We need another word for the latter.

SSS Tranpac Underway

The SSS SINGLE-HANDED sail boat race from San Francisco to Hawaii is underway.

Forget those little x gamers boys who peddle around on their little bicyles and skate boards. They think they are so kool and extreme.

This is what real men and women do: SSS

Or, if you have *really* big ones: Vendee Globe

My friend Bruce is going to race the Vendee. Please consider supporting him, it is difficult for Americans to raise money to do this race as most Americans don't really care about sailing: Bruce Schwab

OK, I Have Another One

Why do so many people think that actors & actresses are so cool? What is so great about what they do? Sure, it's nice to be entertained, but what about the people who fly the space shuttle or the Special Forces in the military or the heart surgeon that saved Drew Wessels' life?

(Test: Name a space shuttle pilot or the surgeon.)

And why do they feel the strong desire to influence other people's politics?

OK, this is interesting...

OK, How About This?

Why do people seem to be surprised when "stop and go" traffic stops?

Why would anyone still work for a tobacco company or one that serves a tobacco company?

Now What?

Hmmmmm, for someone with lots of opinions I really can't think of anything to say.

1st One

OK, this is my first Blog ever.

I don't know how I feel about Blog's, but I didn't think that a geek should be Blog-less. Even George W. Bush has one.
